What is the difference between an AAC Block and an AAC Panel?

While both are made of the same lightweight, aerated concrete material, AAC blocks are small, individual unreinforced masonry units laid by hand. AAC Panels are large, prefabricated slabs that contain an internal steel mesh for high structural strength. Because of their size, panels can be installed up to 5 times faster than standard blocks.

Can AAC Panels be used for load-bearing walls?

Yes. Unlike standard AAC blocks which are generally used as infill (non-load-bearing) walls, specific thicknesses of reinforced AAC Panels are engineered to handle structural loads, making them suitable for load-bearing walls, floors, and roofs in low-rise structures.

How are these panels installed on-site?

AAC panels are manufactured with a tongue-and-groove profile on the edges. They are lifted into place (often using small cranes or mechanical lifters for larger slabs) and locked together using a thin-bed block joining mortar, creating a perfectly flush, seamless wall that requires minimal to no plastering.
